Art Junki’s Fashion Guide to New Years 2017

For the Girly Girl

I love the combination of textures in this monochromatic look.  The satin dress and faux fur coat compliment each other so well.  For makeup, I love the idea of amping up the glow factor, but still keeping the tones on the lighter/ more neutral side to match the outfit.  Lashes will be your statement here.  For hair, I like soft, smoothed-out waves and a middle part to tie in that 70’s feel you get from the jacket.

For the Gal on Santa’s Naughty List

This is for the gal who gives ZERO FU*Ks – my kind of girl!  Since this look screams SEX, the jewelry should be minimal, and hair and makeup should be sleek.  Big curly hair with lots of extensions will send this outfit straight to the corner, so avoid that at all costs.  This rule also applies to the makeup.  Jenna Dewan Tatum’s smokey eye with neutral lip and skin application is perfect for this look.

For the Modern Disco Babe

Whether you’re attending the disco celebration at Soho House or just love seventies glam as much as I do, this look is definitely a show stopper!  In the days of disco, more was better!  This look encompasses all the glitz, glitter, and glam that is sure to wow the crowd.  From the sequin dress to glitter heals, do not be afraid to amp it up!  Curl your hair with the smallest wand you have, and frizz it out for a modern seventies style.  For makeup, Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color to your lips and shimmer to your eyes to tie everything together.  If you are going to commit to fun and festive, this look is for you!
